Sending a request for a diploma and doctoral theses – step by step

Doctoral, master’s and bachelor’s theses are available only after prior completion of the application addressed to the Director of the UKSW Library. The application must include the signature of the Reader’s work promoter or confirmation from the institution directing the person to use the work. Applications should be submitted to the Theological and Canonical Reading Room (room 305 – New Building, Dewajtis Campus). Paper diploma theses can only be ordered using the paper library slip order. Use of them takes place in the Theological and Canonical Reading Room.

How to search for a diploma and doctoral theses?

Doctoral and diploma theses defended at UKSW and ATK from collections of the Library can be browsed through the online catalogue. It is possible to send a request for diploma theses through the personal library account. Searching for dissertations using PRIMO Library Discovery Service is done similarly to searching for other library materials. Just type in author’s surname, title or part of the title of dissertation into the search field. Search term should be typed in without “typos”, because search results may depend on it.

Searching of diploma theses

There are visible list of suggested terms, similar to the one during typing search terms into the search field.

Once the dissertation has been found, the request can be send, after choosing the place of pickup location among the available options.

On the basis of the catalogue record fill in the paper library slip and submit it in the Theological and Canonical Reading Room.

Bachelor’s and master’s theses created since 2010 are archived on the UKSW server in electronic form and administered by the IT Systems Center. ADT (APD) allows you to search for works by author, job title, promoter, seminar and keywords. The works are available on computers in the Theological and Canonical Reading Room (r. 305). Access to them requires the submission of an application to the Director of the UKSW Library with the signature of the promoter or confirmation of the application by the institution directing the person for scientific research.

Archive of Diploma Theses

The use of diploma thesis and doctoral dissertations is possible only in the Theological and Canonical Reading Room or Humanities Reading Room.

Not all the works in the ADT can be shared. This happens when the author does not agree to this. To make sure your work is available in digital form, please write to czytelnia.teologiczno.kanoniczna@uksw.edu.pl.

The library does not permit the copying of any part of a master’s, doctoral, bachelor’s thesis on any medium (§4, par. 11 of Rules and Regulations of Sharing Collections of the UKSW Library).
