Materials which are not available in UKSW Library or any other Warsaw libraries can be requested by the Interlibrary Loan. Loans from Polish libraries are free of charge. Materials on loan from foreign libraries carry a charge. All items brought to the Library are available only on-site at the Reading Room of the Law Sciences Library (Wóycicki Campus) or Humanities Reading Room (Dewajtis Campus). It is also possible to order scan or photocopy of selected materials for fees.

Interlibrary lending forms are issued to academic libraries that have not accessed the BiblioWawa and libraries of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw.

Informations for Polish and foreign libraries.

1. The Interlibrary Loan service provides services to other Polish and foreign libraries for loans from its own collections and for sending copies of articles from its journals.

2. There is a fee for making photocopies and scans (see the Price List of Fees and Services).

3. The loan period is 30 days.

4. Materials that can not be borrowed by Interlibrary loans :

  • old prints, special collections and archives;
  • prints published before 1950;
  • journals and newspapers;
  • special collections, bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral theses;
  • works in a poor state of preservation.

5. Orders for national and international libraries are processed after placing an order via the online form. A separate form must be completed for each item ordered.

Information for UKSW users on the rules for the use of domestic and international Interlibrary Loans:

1. The interlibrary loan service can be used by the following members of the UKSW community:

  • employees;
  • UKSW doctoral students and students with an active library account.

2. Interlibrary loans include the following materials:

  • books;
  • articles (scans or photocopies – ordering person becomes owner);
  • microfilms.

3. The order should be placed on the appropriate online form containing bibliographic data of searched item:

  • book: author, title, place and year of publication;
  • article: journal title, volume, year, author of article, pages of article

as well as basic Reader’s contact details.

A separate form must be completed for each item requested.

4. Requests can be submitted by:

  • UKSW users – throught the online form or in person in Interlibrary Loan room;
  • libraries from other cities – via traditional or electronic mail.

5. Interlibrary Loans carries out orders for:

  • domestic loans (if the volumes are not in Warsaw libraries);
  • international loans (if the volmes are not in Polish libraries).

6. Delivery time is:

  • 1-3 weeks – importing materials from the Polish library;
  • 1-3 months – importing materials from a foreign library.

7. The period of borrowing the library collections is defined by the accessing library.

8. All items brought to the Library are available only on-site at the Reading Room of the Law Sciences Library (Wóycicki Campus) or Humanities Reading Room (Dewajtis Campus).

9. Borrowing books from Polish libraries is free.

10. The shipping costs of library materials, i.e. photocopies, scans, are covered by the ordering person.

11. The shipping costs of library materials according to the Price List of Fees and Services used in interlibrary loans or an invoice issued (only in Polish).

Informations for UKSW students and employees:

  1. Interlibrary lending forms are issued only to persons who regularly settle accounts.
  2. You can place up to three orders at a time.
  3. The deadline for settling accounts with the interlibrary loan is 30 days.
  4. Request for other Warsaw libraries are processed in the Lending Room.
